I have been very lax in my blog reading, and only just seen this. Do you only have the pain in your hands? Do you get regular, inexplicable pain anywhere else? Do ou suddenly get waves of complete exhaustion sweeping over you? If any answer if yes, might be worth investigating Fibromyalgia (I've recently been diagnosed with a mild form of this). Look it up on NHS Direvct for a better list of symptons, which can include migraine, IBS, jaw pain, irritable bladder and a whole host of oher seeming unlinked afflictions.

Circulation issue? I once wore a pair of ski boots that were way too tight and I had pins and needles in my feet for weeks afterwards.

I was going to put my hand up and say "trapped nerve" but it hurts - uh-oh! I really hope they can sort you out a.s.a.p. It's not fair after all you've been through.

If I were the sort of girl who was in the habit of swearing, I'd swear now.
You'd think there would be some sort of respite after all your goings on. Say, a couple of years or so.

Yes, I'd have suggested a trapped nerve ..... but in BOTH hands?

If you could only divert the electric shocks to the washing machine, at least you'd be saving on the electricity bill.

Could it possibly be a side effect of one of the drugs?

I used to get the pins and needles thingy, but I think it was because I slept with my wrists folded over. Still get it now, in fact. They weren't sure what caused it with me (both hands, really bad pins & needles - mostly at night though), but if I wear wrist splints (the kinds with a metal bar that runs from the palm of your hand to just past your wrist) it stops it happening. Might be worth asking your physio if you can have a splint for each hand for overnight, at least... Won't hurt to try it...
